POSITION: Chief Executive Officer, Foods & Agro Allied Division

NATURE OF BUSINESS: Leading Industrial Conglomerate

JOB LOCATION: West Africa

REPORTS TO: Group Chief Executive Officer

TOTAL STAFF RESPONSIBILITY: 1000 people

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: Assume overall responsibility and authority for:

Developing the Group’s Foods & Agro Allied industries business portfolio and drive its brand leadership position in line with overall Group Strategy and objectives.

GROUP BACKGROUND: The Group has been operating businesses successfully for over three decades following its establishment as a trading Enterprise in the 1970’s.It is now is regarded as one of West Africa’s leading conglomerates. The Group now employs over 10,000 people across five key industry sectors. The Foods Division comprises of 3 businesses employing a total of 1,000 people.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Relevant degree, with a relevant major. Post graduate qualification recommended
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualification experience, specifically in the sectors of focus with a minimum of eight (8) years in an executive management position
  • Previous experience at driving largescale organic and in organic growth in Emerging Markets or similar economy/environment with very good appreciation of business peculiarities and contexts

KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Participate in the articulation ofthe Group’s strategic thrusts and objectives particularly as it relates to its positioning in the Foods & Agro Allied and FMCG sectors:
  • Identify and propose strategic programmes, initiatives, opportunities and alliances to enable achievement of the Group goal
  • Translate/cascade divisional goals/targets into operational goals and targets for all operating businesses ensuring alignment with the overall Group goal
  • Provide overall guidance, leadership support and strategic direction to subordinates.
