JOB LOCATION: Gauteng

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: Assume accountability and responsibility for the company’s human resources function with particular emphasis on: developing and implementing human resource strategies and initiatives to support business and human resources needs; providing strategic human resources leadership to the management committee and the human resources division; representing and managing the company’s interests at the Employer’s Association and the National Bargaining Forum; building organizational capability and implementing key human resources initiatives in the company.

GROUP BACKGROUND: The Company employs in excess of 2 000 people

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Must be a Graduate
  • At least ten years experience in Human Resources in an industrial manufacturing company whichemploys more than 1000 people
  • For the past five years must have been Head or Second in charge of the Human Resources Division
  • Must have managed a staff complement of at least ten people

KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • In conjunction with the Management Committee, implement human resources and people development strategies, objectives and processes
  • Assume responsibility of the recruitment function, ensuring that the Company attracts, retains and proactively develops a high performance capability amongst all levels of staff
  • Monitor the industrial relations climate and advise the Management Committee on the appropriate action to be taken to improve the climate
  • Play a hands-on and leading role in all union negotiations
  • Implement human resources planning, recruitment, succession planning and retention strategies
