POSITION: Senior Reward Manager, East, West & North Africa

REPORTS TO: Head of Reward, Africa

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: The incumbent will manage the delivery of Reward across the Group’s country operations in the region by providing specialist Reward leadership and support, and advising Business Partners and line managers on all reward issues. He/she will also provide support to the Africa Head of Reward in the achievement of reward policy and the development and implementation of wider reward strategy and plans which enable the business to achieve its business strategy.

GROUP BACKGROUND: The group is a major listed global financial services provider engaged in retail banking,corporate and investment banking and wealth management with an extensive international presence in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Must have a degree, ideally in an analytical or business related discipline.
  • A further professional qualification (e.g. accountancy, tax, legal) will be advantageous.
  • Significan tmanagement and leadership experience in an executive Human Resources or Reward role with extensive experience of working across diverse and complex businessunits.
  • Knowledge  of compensation policies and practices within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of executive reward.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive project management, analytical and negotiation skills; be confident and credible in dealing with, presenting to, andinfluencing senior stakeholders in the region, and in dealing effectively andsensitively with the dynamics inherent in large, diverse organisations.

KEY JOB PERFORMANCEAREAS:

  • Provide specialist Reward leadership and support to the region, advising Business Partners and line managers on reward issues
  • Provide full reward support to the business in the preparation of offers to external hires and successful promotion candidates, making recommendations to HRBPs and line managers
  • Develop and deliver reward strategy and solutions to support business unit objectives
  • Pro-actively drive and manage the payround process for the business area including incentivepool modelling and allocation, tracking of spend within budget, providingadvice to HR Business Partners and line managers on appropriate incentive, CTC and PD recommendations, ensuring appropriate distribution and consistency of decisions
  • Operate appropriate governance disciplines
  • Proactively engage with HR Business Partners within the region to ensure an appropriate awareness and understanding of the broader Reward agenda
  • Remain up to date with developments both in the South Africa and internationally, building external networks and knowledge, to be viewed as an expert in the Reward field
  • Assist in the delivery of pan-Group and regional reward initiatives as required
