POSITION: Talent Acquisition Manager

NATURE OF BUSINESS: Leading Financial Services Group

JOB LOCATION: Cape Town

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

TOTAL STAFF RESPONSIBILITY: 2 Junior Recruitment Officers

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: Assume responsibility for the talent acquisition/recruiting function forthe Group and its subsidiary companies in South Africa, Ireland and the UnitedKingdom

GROUP BACKGROUND: The Group is global fund management operation with a strong investment track record as an investment manager. The Group has substantial assets undermanagement and employs 240 people

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Must hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • At least seven years experience in talentacquisition/recruitment in the professional services or fast moving consumergoods sector
  • Should ideally have worked in a multinationalorganisation with operations in South Africa, the United Kingdom and Ireland
  • Should have working knowledge of the investmentsector would be advantageous
  • Should have the potential to advance to theposition of Head of Human Resources in two years
  • Must be a hands-on team player and leader who hasgood interpersonal skills, is able to influence and persuade others and makecontributions
  • Must have good facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills, as well as an ability to listen
  • An individual with high attention to detail, a seasoned professional with good organisational skills and the ability to implement processes and systems and make them work.
  • Ability to function under pressure
  • Driven, motivated to succeed, creative and innovative with excellent problem solving skills
  • An individual of integrity, who is trustworthy, displays empathy and compassion when appropriate.

KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Develop the talent acquisition strategy for the Group.
  • Identify and source appropriate talent for current open roles within the Group
  • Identify future talent needs and proactivelyrecruit and develop the Group’s talent pool
  • Manage the recruitment process and life-cycle, including initial assessments, interviews and offers
  • Provide recruitment counsel and guidance to hiring managers

  • Counsel the successful candidate on corporate benefits, remuneration, performance schemes and the Group’s culture
  • Ensure that new or transferred employees have aneffective induction programme which is adhered to
  • Develop specialised or competitive intelligence and research with regard to talent development or retention
