SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Assume total responsibility for all industrial investments in the plant, including new production lines, with particular emphasis on overseeing projects from inception to completion; ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget and that the defined quality standards are adhered to; monitoring and benchmarking operational processes; conducting feasibility studies and analysing and improving industrial performance.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Five years project management / technical management / engineering management experience in the factory of a food, beverage, pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing company
  • Proven management skills and a successful track record of managing a capital expenditure budget with a value of at least R100 million
  • Experience in turnkey project delivery or new line implementation and optimisation is essential

KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Establish him/herself as Technical Manager without alienation of present staff. Gain credibility with the executive management team and manufacturing staff as an individual with extensive knowledge and experience of implementing capital projects in a manufacturing plant
  • Contribute to the overall profitability and development of the organisation by leading and shaping the technical function
  • Provide technical guidance during the introduction, design and development of new products, packaging materials, production lines and processes from concept to commercialisation
  • Contribute to the attainment of the company’s objectives through the successful execution of projects ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget and that the correct quality standards are adhered to
  • Provide accurate estimates, forecasts and effective controls to drive the meeting of project deadlines and company Key Performance Indicators
  • Direct activities and develop and maintain the necessary systems to ensure that projects are effectively administered
