POSITION: Managing Director, South Africa

NATURE OF BUSINESS: Heavy Engineering and Industrial Manufacturing

 JOB LOCATION: Germiston, Johannesburg

 

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: Lead the South African business unit and be responsible for all operations in South Africa and the rest of Africa. Lead and develop a high performance sales force capable of winning market position across the company’s portfolio of products and services. Drive the growing business within Africa, manage the South African manufacturing plant and the on-going servicing of clients in the region and ensure profit and cash optimisation whilst assuming a role as a responsible stakeholder with staff and the community.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

 

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in either: Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Customer Service, Operations or Manufacturing Management; Managing cross functional teams within South Africa; Leading and developing subordinates

  • At least five years’ experience in a general management role. Should have managed a staff complement of at least 100 employees and have been responsible for an annual turnover of R300 million or more

  • Must have a track record of success in the sales and marketing of mechanical equipment and services

  • Must be able to demonstrate this success both in South Africa and in sub-Sahara Africa

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferably have an Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or related degree (although this is not essential)
