 POSITION: Senior Manager: Human Resources

 NATURE OF BUSINESS: Logistics

 JOB LOCATION: Sandton, Johannesburg (will require travel to various locations within South Africa and the SADC region)

 REPORTS TO: Divisional General Manager (directly); Group Human Resources Director (dotted line)

 SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Assume accountability and responsibility for leading the division’s Human Resources function with particular emphasis on: developing and implementing human resources strategies to support the business; providing strategic human resources leadership to the executive management team and building the competencies and team members in the human resources function

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Should hold a relevant graduate qualification

  • At least ten years’ experience in a Senior Human Resources position for a company/division in the logistics, supply chain or services sectors which employs at least 500 people

  • Experience in the recruitment, employee benefits, organisation development, training and development, retention, talent management and succession planning is essential

  • Self-starter who possesses gravitas to lead the Human Resources function

  • Must have a good commercial sense

  • Professional with well-honed influencing skills

  • Must be willing and able to travel

     

     

    KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Establish oneself as the Senior Human Resources Manager without alienation of present staff and rapidly assume control of the designated activities

  • Contribute to the overall profitability and development of the Company by leading and shaping the Human Resources function

  • As a Member of the Management Committee, contribute to general deliberation and decision making. Leverage seat on the Management Committee and ensure that leading edge Human Resources practices permeate the entire division
