Division of a Major Construction and Engineering Group

Position Summary:

Assume responsibility and accountability for the financial health and governance of the division and its subsidiaries.

Key areas of activity:

• Participate in the Division's strategic planning processes by providing financial leadership and commercial acumen
• Provide high standards of financial control and ensure effective management of working capital
• Make presentations on the Division's results, forecasts and future plans to the investment community and large corporate stakeholders
• Support the tender risk committee in analysing the financial risks of larger tenders
• Build strong financial management capability across the Division

Key Attributes Required:

• Chartered Accountant
• At least ten years post-qualifying experience with a minimum of five years heading the financial function of a business with a turnover in the region of R1 billion
• Ideal to have worked in the financial function of a heavy industrial or construction and engineering environment of a listed company
• A thorough understanding of Accounting Standards such as GAAP and IFRS and other relevant legislative frameworks
• The ability to translate business strategy into actionable financial plans
• Successful track record in financial planning, managing relationships with banks and providing high standards of financial control and effective management of working capital
• Familiarity with evolving global financial policies and procedures as well as commercial, tax and legal matters
