SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:
As one of the two statutory directors of the South African subsidiary of a Global Fast Moving Consumer Goods Group, the role brings with it the combination of financial and governance responsibility with strategic leadership and implementation alongside the Managing Director. This will include: developing the finance strategy; delivering world class financial reporting; assisting in the achievement of annual EBIT and cash flow targets, as well as driving change in the finance function and in the business.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

10 to 15 years of professional experience in a financial division, culminating in a Finance Director position preferably in a multinational FMCG company, delivering both production and marketing outputs
-
Should currently be/have been the Head of Finance of a company or division with an annual turnover in excess of R1 billion
-
A working knowledge of business planning/controlling and experience in Finance Information Systems and cross-functional teams is essential
-
Should exhibit a strong management accounting track record
-
Experience in auditing with one of the Big 4 Companies would be an advantage
-
Should ideally have had international assignment experience
KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:
-
Understand the business and be able to contribute strategically to overall business thinking supported by fundamental financial insight
-
Convert strategy down to investment and operational decisions and prioritisation
-
Ensure optimisation of the financial performance of all functions, including Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain and Industrial
-
Realise adequate financial analysis and initiate necessary action plans
-
Conduct financial analysis and benchmark studies
-
Regular monitoring of the Business Unit's scorecard including specific Key Performance Indicators
-
Ensure internal and external performance planning and reporting processes on each horizon. Drive the strategic planning process
-
Manage accounting up to year-end closing according to Group rules and in respect of local statutory and fiscal laws
-
Ensure compliance with internal/external regulations in terms of payments/treasury
-
Optimise cash-flow
-
Ensure that all Group Internal Control practices are in place and are followed by the company
-
Drive governance and sound business ethics throughout the company
-
Manage functionally the Information Systems/Information Technology Division (hierarchical report is to the Group)
