Company Background: Listed property company with annual revenues in the region of R1 billion and employing 100 people in the headquarters. Position Summary: Reporting to the Chairman of the Board, the CEO will have responsibility and authority for the effective leadership and profitable management of the Group so as to achieve a financial performance which is in line with agreed Group objectives. Key areas of activity: Provide strong leadership and good corporate governance Continuously monitor business opportunities and provide appropriate strategic guidance regarding growth and direction Focus on building and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders Embrace entrepreneurial thinking and create an ethos of excellence Optimise profitability
Key Attributes Required: Must be a graduate, preferably with a financial or business qualification such as a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Science degree At least five years experience at a Senior Executive level, preferably within a JSE listed organisation Should have been responsible for an annual turnover in excess of R400 million per annum and have managed a staff complement of at least 50 people Ideally have a good feel for property, property development or a strong corporate finance background Experience in a large retail or property development environment would be advantageous Experience of pulling together business deals with the ability to participate in tough negotiations Desirable to have had media and analyst relationship experience as well as exposure to merchant banking and property finance Highly numerate, innovative and growth focused. Strong financial knowledge and able to interpret financial statements with a good understanding of the principles of investments and, in particular, Real Estate investments
