Position Summary:

Reporting to the Managing Director and with a total staff responsibility for 350 people and revenue in excess of R500 million, the incumbent will have total authority and responsibility for managing the business strategy and portfolio of functions with particular emphasis on:
Establishing credibility, rapport and long-term relationships with current and prospective clients

• Participating in, and advising on, the negotiation and contractual details of major deals
• Continuously monitoring business opportunities and providing appropriate strategic guidance regarding growth and direction
• Ensuring ongoing liaison with Head Office and operations in other countries

Key Attributes Required:

• Bachelor of Science Engineering degree, ideally coupled with a Business qualification
• At least five years experience within an Industrial Manufacturing, Mining or Construction environment with a turnover in excess of R400 million and employing more than 300 people
• Exposure to an industrial manufacturing and sales environment where developing long-term relationships with current and prospective customers is key
• Experience of pulling together business deals with the ability to participate in tough negotiations with key customers and be astute regarding contractual matters
• Well developed budgeting and financial control skills and adept in the interpretation of financial statements
