Company Background:
The organisation is a division of the sub-Saharan African subsidiary of a major multi-national group.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the South African Managing Director the incumbent will have responsibility and authority to lead and manage the Division with particular emphasis on: increasing productivity and market share through the generation of new business; escalating sales and improving profitability; providing management, leadership and strategic direction to the team and the distributor businesses.
Key Attributes Required:
- At least five years in a general management position in a sales / service organisation in a technical market
- Must have had full profit and loss and balance sheet responsibility in an organisation with a turnover in excess of R250 million
- A technical background would be desirable with a track record of being a skilled negotiator
- Experience of building, developing and leading a high calibre team of at least 30 people and implementing team management by clearly defined goals, strategies and objectives
- Strong background in Marketing, Sales and Customer Relationship development and management
- Track record in developing and implementing strategies and vision
