SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:  

Assume responsibility and authority for the operations of the Production Plant in Eastern Johannesburg

GROUP BACKGROUND:

South African subsidiary of Global Fast Moving Consumer Goods Group

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

• Should ideally have an engineering degree (mechanical or industrial)

• At least six years experience in operations in either a multi-national or major South African organisation

• Should have managed a production team of at least 100 people and have been responsible for annual industrial costs of at least R100 million and material costs in excess of R400 million

KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Maximising manufacturing efficiency through SQCDMN with set Key Performance Indicators and objectives and developing the capacity of the employees and the plant, by involving and maximising the contribution of all employees within the production facility

• Participating in the development of the site master plan for the implementation of methods, tools, systems, equipment and related activities to support the continuous improvement and world class standards in the plant

• Participating and identifying projects to improve workflow, increase availability/capacity, reduce losses and the cost of production

• Support and coach subordinates on a daily basis to improve their skills and performance as Managers and employees through Personal Development Reviews and training programmes

• Network with local, regional, global and external partners to identify and transfer best practices

• Create and support a safe environment and culture for all employees in the production environment

• Ensure and support a first line quality control culture and process on the shop floor

• Help to define the organisation's road-map and actions to become a great place to work
