Headquartered in North America, the company employs in excess of 30,000 employees and contractors worldwide. Its core operations are based in North America, South America, Australasia and Africa – with new mine projects currently being developed.
KEY ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

Experience leading large scale, country, and/or regional business function

Proven track record of improving productivity and profitability through innovative use of technology, cost reduction strategies, high-quality investment decisions and leading-edge management practices
-
Background in gold mining or natural resources with an extensive understanding of regulations, risk, and projects
-
Proven experience in attracting and retaining a high-performing and diversified leadership team, creating a teamwork environment built on coaching, development and accountability for achieving results
-
Experienced in working constructively with governments, communities, NGOs and special interest groups
-
Degree in science, engineering, technology, business or related fields and a demonstrated track record of success
KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Key partner to Regional Senior Vice President in development of region’s growth strategy
-
Identify, monitor, and analyze external growth opportunities within the region; select and advance opportunities to Corporate Development for evaluation and potential progression

Optimize internal growth opportunities
Regional Planning responsibilities will include:
-
Developing a range of business scenarios based on business plan sensitivities and opportunities
-
Ensuring aligned integration and roll up of regional business plans
-
Identifying and leading strategic business impact opportunities for the region to optimize regional cost structures
-
Supporting and integrating Business Excellence opportunities into the region’s financials and planning
-
Driving strategic (long-term) mine planning and optimization
-
Overseeing and integrating IT function into region via dotted line responsibility
