GROUP BACKGROUND:

South African subsidiary of Global Fast Moving Consumer Goods Group

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Assume responsibility and authority for ensuring that quality brings strong value to the business, from food safety to consumer preference, product design to final consumer and raw materials to finished products.

Main Deliverables:

Ensure that raw materials and the finished product conform with specifications (including research & planning and new launches)

Ensure processes and systems efficiency and compliance

Ensure an integrated continuous improvement approach

Optimise quality costs

Build and maintain close and trusted relations with local authorities

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

Must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree

At least eight years experience in the processing and packaging sector of the fast moving consumer goods industry

Experience in the food industry would be highly advantageous

Must currently be the Head or Second-in-Charge of the quality assurance function

Must have managed a Quality team of at least eight people

KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Add value to the overall management and performance of the country business unit

Boost sustainable quality through product development & processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and meeting customer & consumer expectations

Drive the CBU Quality Business Plan, mobilize universally implement and measure around it and monitor its achievement

Manage and eliminate customers complaints

Capture consumer & customer feedback and convert them into business opportunities

Develop, steer and maintain Quality policy and systems, in accordance with Corporate & Divisional guidelines, ensuring all stakeholders needs are met

Lead/contribute to quality crisis management (actions & training)

Embed a quality assurance culture in the organisation

Develop Quality teams, build relationships with the external environment (universities, relevant bodies) in order to develop competencies and attract talent

Ensure compliance with existing food regulations and create conditions for favourable food regulation evolution (actively working in professional associations)
