Head of Plant, Mining & Infrastructure Services

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Head of Plant will assume executive responsibility for the strategic leadership, operational performance, reliability, maintenance, and lifecycle management of the company’s operational equipment fleet across multiple operating sites in one of the top three East African Economies.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

Minimum 10–15 years’ senior leadership experience within heavy industry, engineering services, asset-intensive operations, infrastructure, industrial services, or related environments, with responsibility for enterprise-wide plant, fleet, or asset management functions
Proven track record leading large mobile asset fleets across geographically dispersed, operationally critical environments, with demonstrated success improving asset availability, reliability, utilisation, maintenance performance, and operational readiness
Extensive experience implementing preventive, predictive, and reliability-centred maintenance strategies, with the ability to transform reactive maintenance environments into disciplined, systems-driven asset management operations
Strong operational leadership experience managing multi-site workshops, field service operations, maintenance planning, reliability engineering, component lifecycle programmes, and technical support functions within complex asset-intensive environments
Proven ability to lead organisational transformation, develop high-performing technical teams, strengthen leadership capability, and embed a proactive, reliability-focused culture centred on planning discipline, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and sustainable capability development
Hands-on, highly credible operational leader with strong workshop and field experience, capable of balancing strategic asset management leadership with practical execution within demanding, high-utilisation industrial environments across Africa

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (essential)
Additional qualifications in Asset Management, Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related disciplines will be advantageous
MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Commercial Management, or a related field will be advantageous

Chief Financial Officer, Natural Resources Sector

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will serve as a true ‘right hand’ and strategic partner, providing operational and financial leadership to drive an ambitious growth agenda. The CFO in partnership with CEO will drive business strategy, growth, ESG, efficient procurement, improve product realisation and overall business performance including production improvement, cost reduction and CSI. To lead the Finance function by enabling creation and execution of business plans, tracking performance through financial reporting and cost tracking, facilitating capital allocation and investments (through Treasury), drive robust financial governance via systems, audit, controls and compliances, drive efficient working capital management and supervise IT with the objective of ensuring smooth business operations and realisation of short-term and long-term business objectives.

The CFO’s enhanced focus will be to drive the company’s governance framework, compliances, transparent and timely reporting, ensuring enough cash availability in the business through internal and external resources to drive production enhancement, drive overall cost control to make sustainable, as well as department budgets, design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures and be responsible for smooth conduct of both internal and external audits.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

Minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the incumbent must have previous experience having served as a trusted strategic partner and “right hand,” combining strong operational capability with sound financial acumen and the credibility to engage effectively with investors and key stakeholders.
Demonstrable experience in finance and accounting within large or mid-sized process industrial organisations (preferably mining).
Experience in FP&A function in a large / mid-size process industrial organisation (preferably in mining) with exposure to IFRS standards, knowledge of tax and treasury operations and corporate governance
Proven track record of operational excellence and financial leadership, including direct experience managing investor relations and representing the company to external stakeholders.
Substantial experience in financial management, planning, and analysis in the mining or related process industries.
Track record of driving business transformation, cost optimisation, and value creation

QUALIFICATIONS:

CA/ ACCA/ MBA/ CIMA or equivalent finance qualification

Chief Operating Officer, a Mining Company

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Be technically accountable for implementation, monitoring, optimisation, integration and alignment of the business process and the setting of work systems to enhance internal effectiveness in a continuous operation. Constantly searching for ways and methods of enhancing the operational systems in order to achieve continuous improvement.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

Must have at least 20 years’ experience with at least five years in a senior management position for a mining/processing company

A demonstrated in depth understanding of all aspects of processing operations with a minimum of ten years of mineral separation and floatation experience
Strong background in Human Relations and financial controls
Proven experience in optimisation, integration and overall improvement of business processes within a mining/processing operation
Experience working with Platinum, Manganese, Iron Ore, Chrome and Base Metals (copper, nickel, and zinc) with specific crushing, milling, flotation experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

An Engineer with ideally a Bachelor degree in either Metallurgy, Instrumentation, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
