7 August 2018: The Science of the Interview

Job interviews remain one of the most useful devices to select suitable employees.

Before conducting an interview, the employer will typically evaluate many prospective employees’ résumés after which she or he then selects a small number of candidates for interviews.

Candidates may also use the interview to assess the demands of the job and the culture of the employer.

Employers usually conduct multiple rounds of job interviews.

It is increasingly common to conduct an initial interview via the telephone or Skype.
