SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for planning, directing, managing and controlling the company’s financial activities. The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for governance and financial management across multiple critical areas such as finance, tax and administration, global treasury, shared services, procurement and facilities management, risk, compliance, internal audit  (with co-reporting into ARC), and Information Technology.

 

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

• Must have had at least ten to twelve years of progressively responsible financial experience for a major company or division of a large corporation preferably gained in a Finance and IT environment
• Should understand crucial financial frameworks and tools in the modern business environment and in particular JSE-listed company requirements
• Sound knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, King IV Report, JSE Listings Requirements and relevant legislation (Tax, Company, Property, Insurance Law)
• Must have understanding of audit and risk assessment processes and principles
• Must understand how to formulate and execute business strategies as well as effectively lead a team of professional staff
• Should have experience in partnering with an executive team and have a high level of written and oral communication skills
• Must have demonstrated expertise in the following fields:
  • Business and Financial Controlling and accounting
  • Internal controls and risk management
  • Tax compliance
  • Treasury
  • Consolidations
  • Capital Management
  • Project Financing

• Essential to hold a Chartered Accountant qualification. Additional post-graduate qualifications would be desirable
