NATURE OF BUSINESS: Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Solar Energy Component Manufacturing Industry

JOB LOCATION: Johannesburg, Gauteng

REPORTING TO: Sales & Marketing Executive

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Greater than R100 million

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Lead all business activities and employees to execute overall strategies and objectives established for the South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa (SSA) region. Ensure profitable and sustainable expansion of the company’s affiliate so as to optimise the value for the Group’s stakeholders over the immediate, medium and long term with particular emphasis on: establishing the suitable route to market; building relationships; manage the division’s budgets, financial reports and forecasts to ensure that the division achieves its business objectives and complies with all relevant laws and regulations. Responsible for the growth, sales and earnings targets as well as budget planning within the region of responsibility.

 

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Must have had at least 10 years’ experience in a Technical Sales and Marketing, Business Development role in the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Solar Energy sector of which 3 to 5 years should be in a senior leadership role
  • In-depth knowledge of the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Solar Energy industry value chain
  • A self-starter and strategic thinker, with integrity and honesty
  • Must have a demonstrable track record of delivering growth and meeting or exceeding targets
  • Possess technical and financial insights and business development skills
  • Excellent relationship building and customer facing skills, with a network of contacts in the region
  • A performance results driven individual
  • Display a ‘hands on’ approach to the role whilst maintaining a “big picture” perspective
  • Able to be a leader with a desire to develop other people and work effectively in a team of more than 20 team members
  • Manage all aspects of the branch and agency network to ensure results are delivered
  • Foster agility and promote a continuous improvement environment
  • Have good decision making and problem solving skills
  • Outstanding relationship skills and excellent communication (written/spoken) skills at all levels

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in either Sales, Marketing, Business Administration/Management, Engineering or other relevant degree is essential
  • Post graduate qualification would be preferable
