JOB LOCATION: Gauteng

REPORTS TO: General Manager

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

As Engineering Manager, oversee the finalisation of the commissioning of the processing plant and ultimate transition into final full production.

Be technically accountable for monitoring, optimisation, integration and alignment of the engineering and maintenance processes and constantly searching for ways and methods of enhancing the operational systems in order to achieve continuous improvement.

Achieve Plant Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PPM) of equipment and provide continued tactical engineering support to the Plant so as to resolve plant issues that are impacting both short-term and long-term production and achieve high quality products.

Develop quality control (QC) plans for plant equipment and ensure compliance with the company mechanical integrity standard.

 

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Must have at least 10 years’ relevant experience in the mining operations environment 
  • Proven experience in optimisation, integration and overall improvement of business processes within a mining/processing operation
  • Significant technical knowledge and practical hands on operational experience in managing and optimizing plants
  • Experience working with Platinum, Manganese, Iron Ore, Chrome and Base Metals (copper, nickel, and zinc)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An Engineer with ideally a Bachelor degree in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Relevant NQF level 7 qualification
  • Membership of relevant Professional Body and/or Government Competency Certificate
  • Holder of the 2.13.1 appointment under Mine Health and Safety Act for the areas of responsibility as described
