Sales Manager for a Chemical Compound Processing Company

JOB LOCATION: Johannesburg or Cape Town, South Africa

REPORTING TO: Chief Executive Officer, Region Africa

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: TBD

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Lead all business activities and employees to execute overall strategies and objectives established at regional level. Ensure profitable and sustainable expansion of the company’s affiliate so as to optimise the value for the Group’s stakeholders over the immediate, medium and long term with particular emphasis on: establishing the operations; building relationships; manage the country's budgets, financial reports and forecasts to ensure that the country achieves its business objectives and complies with all relevant laws and regulations. Responsible for the growth, sales and earnings targets as well as budget planning within Southern Africa.

 

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • At least 10 years’ general management experience within a multinational firm with a significant P&L responsibility
  • Should ideally have experience supplying products to the construction and building sectors across Southern Africa
  • Familiarity with South and Southern African market conditions, sales channels and competitors is essential
  • Must have a demonstrable track record of delivering growth and meeting or exceeding targets
  • Excellent relationship building and customer facing skills, with a network of contacts in the region

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Economics (Business Administration, Finance) and/or Engineering, or an equivalent in a related field is essential
  • Master’s Degree preferred but not required
