SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: Provide scientific leadership and oversight for all pathology-related activities within the organisation. This individual will act as the signatory ensuring the high standards of accuracy, compliance, and scientific integrity. The role requires deep expertise in pathology, with the ability to interpret and analyse results, provide critical insights, and uphold the organisation’s reputation.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

• Proven ability to act as a Scientific Signatory 
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance
• Extensive experience in clinical pathology, preferably within either a research organisation, pathology practice, pharmaceutical company, medical device , hospital or university
• Expertise in one or more therapeutic areas, such as tuberculosis (TB), oncology, virology, infectious diseases, or other relevant specialisations
• Able to lead large scale projects with multiple stakeholders and multiple priorities, and deliver results
• Pays meticulous attention to detail and adept at problem solving
   

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Medical Degree (MBChB, MBBCh, or equivalent) with specialisation in Pathology (MMed Path or equivalent).
• Registration with the Fellowship of the College of Pathologists of South Africa (FCPath SA)
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) or an equivalent regulatory body
