NATURE OF BUSINESS: Automotive Component Manufacturing

LOCATION: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

 

REPORTS TO: Group Director: Corporate Services

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Lead a Human Resources function for a manufacturing company which is a subsidiary of an international organisation. The incumbent will assume responsibility for all areas of Human Resources such as staffing and recruiting, organisational development, performance management, training, compensation & benefits, employee relations and engagement. Particular emphasis will be on designing and implementing a strategy and providing professional expertise and direct assistance to the leadership team. In addition, provide strong leadership and management to the Human Resources team, ultimately ensuring that the Human Resources department operates efficiently and aligns with the broader business objectives.

KEY EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management. Post graduate qualification is preferable
  • At least ten years’ experience in both operational and strategic human resources roles in an organisation which employs more than 500 people
  • Should have experience in supporting the site operations of a South African subsidiary of a global organisation
  • Should have worked in either automotive, fast moving consumer goods or industrial manufacturing industry (chemical, paper, construction material etc.)
  • Must have demonstrable experience in partnering and collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including dealing with Trade Union Representatives
  • Strong people management and leadership skills in order to influence people, build and maintain relationships
  • Able to build effective teams
