POSITION: Operations Director

NATURE OF BUSINESS: Information Systems Company

JOB LOCATION: Cape Town, South Africa

REPORTS TO: Chairman

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

The Operations Director will assume responsibility for the day-to-day management and leadership of the company which consists of Technical and Application Development, Cost Accounting and Training departments. Serve as the operational point of contact and as the conduit between the company, implementation partner and customers, to ensure the effective and timeous implementation and management of programmes and services. Particular emphasis on cost containment and efficiency of operations, management of staff and deliverables, overseeing the implementation of transformational or change management projects as well as resolving client issues, product management and customer support. Ultimately provide the structure to deliver software in a timely manner and to a consistent standard of quality. In time, enable the organisation to grow and develop new ideas and service offerings ultimately contributing to the growth and profitability of the Company by continuously growing market share.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Experience in managing and leading day-to-day operations for an organisation within ICT companies, professional services or consulting services firms Experience of development methodologies such as Lean or Agile
  • Minimum 5 years’ proven people management experience/leading teams
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering on numerous projects simultaneously
  • Experience in identifying and securing new business
  • Must possess strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Track record of success with delivering projects on time and on budget with experience in development methodologies such as Lean or Agile
  • Must be willing to travel

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree. Post graduate qualification would be an advantage
  • Six Sigma or relevant agile methodology training
