NATURE OF BUSINESS: JSE Listed Consumer Packaged Goods industry 

JOB LOCATION: Cape Town

REPORTING TO: Chief Executive Officer

REVENUE: In Excess of R10 billion

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

The CFO role is responsible for commercial and strategic leadership of the organisation, alongside the CEO, with direct oversight and leadership of all aspects of financial management of the organisation. The role is responsible for financial stewardship of the organisation and as a key enabling business partner, driving performance through delivery of the right data to the right functions at the right time. This includes leading and guiding teams which oversee inter alia financial goals, audit and risk governance, compliance, strategic partner relationships, budgets and reporting to the CEO and Board.

The Position of Chief Financial Officer will build upon the existing success and momentum, whilst taking responsibility for the following key tasks:

  • Developing a financial strategy that is aligned to the business strategy
  • Advise the Chief Executive Officer and the fellow Executives on the organisation’s financial affairs and assist in long-term general planning
  • Oversee and direct the organisation's financial objectives, goals, capital management requirements, funding, and investments
  • Develop the financial well-being of the organisation by preparing annual budgets, providing financial projections and accounting forecasts, including the preparation of growth plans and providing input into all strategic decisions

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an executive finance leadership role, ideally in the FMCG or manufacturing sector
  • Must have been responsible for annual revenue over R7.5 billion and preferably with strong experience in managing and optimising a diverse business in terms of financial and cash management as well as reporting

  • Experience in increasing profitability in a stagnant economy and leading successful changes in organisations
  • Experience in executing and integrating Mergers & Acquisitions will be advantageous
