SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will serve as a true ‘right hand’ and strategic partner, providing operational and financial leadership to drive an ambitious growth agenda. The CFO in partnership with CEO will drive business strategy, growth, ESG, efficient procurement, improve product realisation and overall business performance including production improvement, cost reduction and CSI. To lead the Finance function by enabling creation and execution of business plans, tracking performance through financial reporting and cost tracking, facilitating capital allocation and investments (through Treasury), drive robust financial governance via systems, audit, controls and compliances, drive efficient working capital management and supervise IT with the objective of ensuring smooth business operations and realisation of short-term and long-term business objectives.

The CFO’s enhanced focus will be to drive the company’s governance framework, compliances, transparent and timely reporting, ensuring enough cash availability in the business through internal and external resources to drive production enhancement, drive overall cost control to make sustainable, as well as department budgets, design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures and be responsible for smooth conduct of both internal and external audits.

 

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
  • Reporting directly to the CEO, the incumbent must have previous experience having served as a trusted strategic partner and “right hand,” combining strong operational capability with sound financial acumen and the credibility to engage effectively with investors and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience in finance and accounting within large or mid-sized process industrial organisations (preferably mining).
  • Experience in FP&A function in a large / mid-size process industrial organisation (preferably in mining) with exposure to IFRS standards, knowledge of tax and treasury operations and corporate governance
  • Proven track record of operational excellence and financial leadership, including direct experience managing investor relations and representing the company to external stakeholders.
  • Substantial experience in financial management, planning, and analysis in the mining or related process industries.
  • Track record of driving business transformation, cost optimisation, and value creation


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CA/ ACCA/ MBA/ CIMA or equivalent finance qualification
