SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s commercial strategy to drive revenue growth, production capacity utilisation, profitability, and market expansion. Overseeing sourcing, sales, marketing, pricing, trading, import/export, logistics, and cold store services, the incumbent ensures all commercial activities align with the company’s broader business objectives and values. This role requires building and maintaining strategic partnerships, managing key accounts, and leading contract negotiations with customers, suppliers, and business partners.

Serving on the Senior Leadership Team, the Commercial Manager collaborates cross-functionally to optimise performance, manage budgets, and deliver on key financial and operational targets. The position demands strong commercial acumen, data-driven decision-making, networking and negotiating proficiency, as well as the ability to adapt to dynamic market conditions.

 

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior commercial leadership position, ideally with a deep understanding of the seafood industry, or related sectors
  • Proven track record in sourcing, sales, business development, and commercial management
  • Strong exposure and experience in import/export, logistics and global supplier and customer management
  • Strong background in process optimisation, supply chain management, and production operations
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to develop and execute commercial strategies, as well as critically assess the risk to and opportunities for the organisation
  • Excellent financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and P&L responsibility
  • Strong experience in creating and fostering a co-operative and collaborative management style and culture
  • Highly skilled in contract negotiation, key account management, and pricing strategy development and margin management

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Honours degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field
