Group Chief Executive Officer, Industrial Manufacturing Group

JOB TITLE: Group Chief Executive Officer 

COMPANY: Industrial Manufacturing Group 

JOB LOCATION: Johannesburg, South Africa  

REPORTING TO: Board of Directors  

 

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:  

The Chief Executive Officer would be responsible for the effective strategic leadership and profitable management of the Group so as to optimise the value that accrues to the Group's stakeholders. Particular emphasis would be on: creating, developing and implementing a vision, strategic direction and momentum to build on and deliver the potential and profitability that has been created; growing the group organically and by synergistic acquisitions and relationships. In terms of strategy, the Chief Executive Officer would also be actively involved in developing new business opportunities; and creating an ethos of excellence and desire for continuous improvement and growth in the Group 

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED: 

  • Must have had at least 10 years’ experience as the Chief Executive or Divisional Managing Director of an industrial manufacturing organisation/ division employing at least 1 500 people and has a turnover in excess of R2 billion per annum 

  • Innovative with entrepreneurial flair and strong on growth, market development, coupled with the technical ability to bring it all together  

  • Should ideally have had experience of a vertically integrated business, exports, multi-channel distribution, transfer pricing, private equity stakeholders, and government engagement.  

  • Must have been exposed to international production standards, have implemented best practice manufacturing principles and have continuous improvement experience  

  • Business experience in Africa would be advantageous 

  • A dynamic, energetic, visible and natural leader with strong interpersonal skills, underpinned by a strong value system, unquestionable integrity and personal morality 

  • Strong financial acumen with resulting decisions and implementation 

  • Able to maintain and strengthen the Group’s customer orientated culture 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Finance  

  • Ideally MBA or advanced degree
