SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

The incumbent will define and ensure the execution of the organisation’s International Business Development strategy aligned to the Group strategy, focused on identifying opportunities for sustainable and profitable growth and expansion on the African continent and potentially beyond. Once opportunities are realised and new entities are opened, the role oversees their alignment to company standards while taking cognisance of cultural and other differences in each situation, and ensures the envisaged value, growth and profitability are achieved

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

• At least 10 years of senior management and leadership experience in business development, market expansion and operations management
• Experience in expansion, negotiations and due diligence; business valuations; mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance
• Strong strategic and conceptual thinking abilities, with a commercial mindset oriented towards growth and risk management
• It is essential to have experience working in a large listed group, ideally within a matrix or federated structure
• Ideally with experience in countries outside of South Africa and specific exposure to the African market
• Proven ability to engage effectively with shareholders and other key stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Required - Business/finance degree & MBA
• Ideal - CA (SA) or similar postgrad
