SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

The Executive Vice President (EVP): Business Transformation will be responsible for leading, setting the strategy and overseeing business transformative initiatives across various business functions, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s growth and profitability goals, and drive efficiency and innovation. Particular emphasis on: being responsible for the overall business transformation strategy, group-wide strategic objectives, priorities, business aspirations, performance/deliverables, compliance, HSSE and ESG.

This role requires a dynamic individual with exceptional commercial and strategic acumen, leadership skills, and a proven track record in leading large-scale business transformational efforts, working across multiple geographies. A strong leader with the ability to lead a highly competent and specialised team, responsible for guidance, support, development and implementation of cutting-edge initiatives, solutions and strategic opportunities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Exposure to working in a multi-national/ global business with emerging markets, especially Africa.
  • Proficiency in overseeing the full P&L of a substantial organisation or a major division and understanding the key operational and financial levers.
  • Demonstrated success in substantial experience in business management, strategic planning, driving significant organisational transformation within the industry and change management initiatives is essential.
  • Preferably, the candidate would have exposure to the energy industry, understanding the intricacies of the fuel energy business sector.
  • Marketing, branding, and customer experience are central aspects of the role, and the candidate should be adept at adapting strategies to different cultural contexts and unique customer segments across various countries.
  • Extensive experience in managing shared services (build, deploy, embed and mature), brand development, customer experience, marketing, data analytics, communications, and business development functions.
  • It is crucial for the candidate to have retail experience, as well as a background in both business-to-business (b2b) and business-to-customer (b2c) sales, ideally with recognisable brands.
  • Additionally, the role involves leading business transformation efforts, potentially a successful track record with mergers & acquisitions, post M&A integration, and company consolidation to create a cohesive operational entity will be advantageous
  • Proficiency in French would be advantageous.
  • Possesses a business-centric and commercial mindset, and an entrepreneurial ethos with a passion for innovation and driving results.
  • Commands credibility in effecting and driving transformative changes within the organisation and embraces ownership and accountability.
  • Demonstrates the ability to inspire and lead others through the journey of an entire life cycle of the shared services function, from embedded inception to maturity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree-level education or equivalent, preferably in business administration, finance, engineering, or related field.
  • MBA or advanced postgraduate degree preferred.
